THIS IS MY COMPLETE REVIEW OF THE DJI OSMO action camera.
I have included 5 simple tips for your DJI OSMO ACTION to follow and start get going with the DJI OSMO ACTION in no time.
I had the incredible chance to test it out and make a great Review for all the Forum users that are interested for the DJI OSMO ACTION camera.
The feature that amazed me the most is the RockSteady image stabilization that makes your footage really RockSteady in various conditions like Race Bike drive, Mountain Bike Vlog walking, speeding down a Zipline and many others.
Another great feature is the 8x Times slowmotion (1080p 240 FPS) that turns your Osmo Action in an great slow motion powerhouse for action sports. It produces good 1080p 8x slowed down footage for all your Instagram and facebook posts to stand out from the mass.
On of the most used features that i was using while testing the DJI Osmo Action is
The Dewarp function that turns the DJI OSMO Action fieldof view completely rectilinear without the distorsion making it a distorsion free action cam for your cinematic videos.
There are various different types of shooting modes like 4K HDR video, Timelapse, AEB , Burst mode and Timed shot where you can really take out your creativity and “Uleash your other side”.
The JPEG+RAW gives you to power to unleash your creativity in post production when editing your photos and get the most out of them.
The 11m Waterproof body without case makes it perfect for almost any type of weather and scenario and you will need a case for it only for extreme dives and when your filming style is extremely exposed to the elements.
There will be a lot of accessories coming up for the DJI OSMO ACTION, like hte battery charging kit, adhesive mounts, ND Filters, Camera frame kit.
Unleash your other side. Enjoy watching my full review!
Thanks DJI Forum for the amazing opportunity given me to have the chance to test the DJI OSMO ACTION!
Hi Mauro,
Thanks a lot for this amazing review.
Could you please refer to the low light video quality? Can it be compared with the one produced by Osmo Pocket or it is different?
What is the maximum resolution of the picture? I understand that the sensor is the same as on Osmo Pocket, so it remains a 12MP resolution picture?
Does it have a D-Cinelike Mode as Osmo Pocket?

You are welcome. I will be testing the lowlight video quality but you can go really good with it in lowlight.
In the Video you can find the Cinelike Dmode included in it.

Thank you,
Do you know if a technical specs is available? I cannot find one.
I am interested to know what lens this device is using ( f/? and ?mm) compared to f/2 and 26mm of Osmo Pocket. It shroud be much wider, isn't it? I still wasn't able to find out what is the picture maximum resolution.
Overall, would you be possible to make a side by side practical comparison between Osmo Action to Osmo Pocket in order to check the quality of the video and the picture in different lighting conditions?
Thanks again!
I found the info I was looking for.
The Osmo Action has a f/2.8 lens while Osmo Pocket has a f/2 lens which is much, much better for all the lighting conditions, especially for low light.

Nice review Mauro,
How similar is action's cinelike d color with pocket's cinelike d color.
Are they same when mixed? Or differnet in some way?
Hey Tide, the Cinelike D match perfectly from the Osmo Pocket to the Osmo Action. So you will be really fine when colorgrading.

Hi there, may I verify the version of your DJI Mimo? Please make sure there is no Bluetooth turned on nearby. Connect to Osmo Action's Bluetooth first, and then enter the DJI Mimo to connect to Osmo Action's network.
A kind of gopro and with all of DJIs customer service and reliability issues?
You took the word out of my mouth!
Funny how all the Gopro knockoffs looks EXACTLY like a Gopro
Dji never invented anything, theyre just damn good at copying things.
Def not a Gopro killer, thank goodness, we dont need another monopoly product.
Very Nice!
DJI just needs to release a high quality gimbal for the OSMO Action that will pan 360 and accepts PWM/PPM inputs. That's really whats missing on the market right now!

Thanks a lot. Yes it's a thread mount for ND filters. But they have to be dedicated for the Osmo Action
Hi Mauro, thanks for the review. About the lens filter cap - the one on my Osmo Action seems impossible to remove, it just won't unscrew at all. Is there a trick to it that I'm missing??
