Hung around my City in Hong Kong with the new OSMO ACTION



Happy with this tiny solid camera capturing some nice actions in slow motion. Nice battery life allows me to take longer timelapse shots

I assume a gimbal was used for these shots?  Curious to see if the stabilization is good enough to make gimbals obsolete. (I currently have a FeiyuTech G6 for my GoPro).

I did use a gimbal for the slow motion shots as stabilisation was not available for this mode.

For the 2.7k and 4K clips, I have taken with both with and without gimbal. My feeling is stabilisation of Osmo Action is satisfactory and at comparable level as GP7black. But cling to a gimbal still add more stabilisation for me especially for some long walk shots with changing angles.

Thanks. Enjoy the slow motion performance of the camera. But also found the 2.7/4k video and time-lapse give amazing image quality, would practise and try out more on these shooting mode

It's an old gimbal (Zhiyun evolution) I bought long time ago for my GoPro hero 4.

Yes. The ND filters are easy to cap on, and the menu is easy to understand and use for amateur user like me, and with few tests I can take long-exposure timelapse video at interesting angle with it

lol - do you work for DJI? that looks like a very nice, extremely professional video that they would use as a commercial to showcase it... I imagine it probably took 10 hours or so to put together? nice job

Thank you   just a hobbyist like playing with gadgets, and particularly enjoy video editing. Hoping I can further advance my technique to make more professional-like videos

This video was mainly taken in 1080p, 120fps or 240fps which EIS is not available, and I shot with a gimbal. So can’t show how much EIS function from this.

For the modes with RockSteady, I’d say the stabilization is satisfactory and at comparable level as GoPro7B, from my experience as a general user

Hope I can compile more videos with the RockSteady modes soon.
