Hi,

I recently bought the Ronin-M and I'm looking for quick release adapter for tripod mount, so that I can use the same baseplate and keeping it attached to the bottom of the camera, with my tripod rig and Ronin-M gimbal. The idea is to use the same dovetail (baseplate, mountingplate) that was included with the Ronin-M kit (RONIN Camera Base Plate Universal, DJI R-003). This way I can change quickly between my tripod rig setup and Ronin-M.

It seems that the original Ronin had bigger base plate than the Ronin-M. RoninRigs found out that you can attach the original Ronin on the Manfrotto-357: https://www.facebook.com/roninri ... 435/?type=2&theater
So I tried that in the local store with the Ronin-M plate, but it did not fit. It's lot smaller.

Cinemilled has the adapter for the top mount, but that's once again lot more smaller than the R-003 dovetail.

Am I missing something here?
Does anyone know if there's a Quick Release mount available for the Ronin-M base dovetail?

Just an fyi - I checked and the Arca-Swiss clamps are too big. Bummer as they really are such a standard clamp with so many accessories already available.

I was thinking about the same as I counted the bottom width to be 42mm and Arca-Swiss should be 50mm, if I got it right.

CineMilled answered that they will make it, no metion about the timeline tough. Or the price.

And German maker Novoflex, known by their lens adapters, has a Q mount line where their base plates are 42mm. They have this "Q=Mount" that might work...

As you can read in the User Review on the Amazon Website, he complains about the fact that arca swiss plates don't fit into the Quick Mount because they are "too thick".

No, unfortunately Cullmann Concept One System doesn't fit. Sent it back.

(And it also doesn't fit to the - so called - "Universal" Mount of the Ronin-M. Seems like the "Universal Mount" of the Ronin (-M) isn't "universal" at all. It fits to NONE of the normal, well known Adapter Systems available on the market... Why oh why...)

mmm, in all honesty, the complete package ronin rigs offers on e-bay does not sound too expensive to me, definitely WAY below the prices cinemilled offers.. also, what about using this:

I put a manfrotto 577 baseplate ONTO the Ronin base plate, and use the manfrotto QR plate on A7s to move back and forth from Ronin & tripod (using a manfrotto ball head). Adds a little weight and height, but no problem with A7s, long lens and Ronin-M. PLUS, I balanced with the manfrotto QR plate in "the middle" of the manfrotto base plate, that way I can do fast, fine balancing using the manfrotto, NOT the Ronin controls. I find it works a little faster as the manfrotto plates are 'sticky' and doesn't slide so fast.

Cooll info to take in mind! thanks mate! But in this topic we are trying to find some adapter that would allow us to mount the Ronin-M on a Crane / Tripod etc.

Gotta say this is a real pain until someone manufactures a decent reasonable priced adapter

Just purchased Ronin-M and here I am with the same question. Since it's been 5 months since the last comment, I'm hoping someone found a plate that works. Anyone????
