First outing on DJI’s Osmo Pocket on Londons Tube & Canary Wharf, cinematic style (cliche-I know).

Noise a bit of a problem in image-profile ’standard’, tried but can’t handle the noise in D-Cinelike. Cant afford ’Neat Video’ at the moment to clear it up.

Filmed 4K 24/60 fps

Placed in 1080p timeline FCPX (24fps)

Looks good, even though you used a fair bit of slow motion ;).   I lived in London for fifty years, and haven't been back for nearly 20 - looks like it's changed a bit!

Love the combination of techniques in this one, very good !


Not quite sure though what you meant with the noise comment - you seem to imply you have noise in both profiles ?

Thanks-yeah, Canary Wharf keeps rising and rising-it's like a mini Manhattan> great spot for pictures/video.

I tried in my local park last week to film with D-Cinelike and although I was happy that it give some wiggle room re exposure/range/whatnot-was pretty disappointed by the amount of noise introduced in darker areas of video-even on a relatively bright day. I guess because of A-my lack of expertise at exposure and B-size of OP chip, noise in darker areas is more common then say with a bigger camera.

These so-called 'flat' profiles (same on things like iPhone-FIMIC pro has 'log/flat)) aren't quite there yet (but I'm not an expert)-maybe hardware limitation. Those profiles bring so much more noise into image, but it's a trade of for more control to do what you want with footage in post.

Thanks, (on Mimo app) put it FPV mode and in flashlight position. Pull the camera all the way up so it pointing forward. Must be flashlight - then press virtual joystick all the way right. Perfect spin!
