hi I’m preparing for my 18month (or more if I’m unlucky with the weather) work exchange in Antartica leaving from Australia.
Whilst I’m not going over in any capacity involving using my drones (although licensed to do so in Australia) I will have a lot or recreational down time to fly.. I’m actually going over for IT support.
Anyhow as far as I can tell, there are no altitude restrictions over there regarding RPAs(drones)
Is it possible to appply for a unlock whilst I’m over there.. it’s not till 2020 but I’d like to prepare

A few things to consider in the manual (snapshot below), the 500m limit might be the least of your concerns:-
Antarctica should be ok, unless he is actually based at the South Pole. I had no problems flying above the Arctic circle (but far away from the North Pole).
I forgot to update this.. drone worked great at 850 meters.. no issues at all.. just had to keep the batteries warm .. yes I kepted them in my pants lol
