Had enough using landing pads and hand catching the Mavic 2 Pro in windy conditions not to mention seeking out clear spots to take off from so pulled the trigger and will be taking delivery of the fairly new retract landing gear from Polar Pro for the M2P later this afternoon - will let you know how it goes after I fly with them on later this evening!

I use the Peak Design Everyday 5L sling so a little more roomy than a hard case - you can always take them off to store/transport the drone but that kind of defeats the object of the design being retractable and left on.

They work perfectly! The drones' flight characteristics are exactly the same as if they were not attached. It was so refreshing just landing the drone in the middle of the field with nothing touching the grass! Highly recommend them.

Yep - fits perfectly in the bag

Do they fold up or do you need to take the off for transportation?
They would work, where the other failed, because the rear landing pair is so far away from the sensors

They do work perfectly and yes, you retract them so they remain on the drone when in the bag.

Great photos captain! It seems Polarpro is the Hasselblad of accessories! I've also just started using extension landing legs a few days ago. They just make choosing a launching/landing spot so much easier.

Been on the fence about getting them but after a couple of flights they are not coming off the drone! So much easier taking off/landing now without carrying that landing pad.

100% agree mate - the low profile on the ground is the achilles heel of the Mavic's

I bought them a while back and they lasted about 15 minutes, until I opened them for the 2nd time, looks nice, nice box, very cheap product...sorry, maybe you'll have better luck.

I purchased these when they were first released and, while preparing for the second flight, one of the rear legs broke off at the hinge. I advised PolarPro and sent a photo as evidence. They sent a full replacement set within days without question. Most impressed with their prompt support.

I suspect the breakage might have been due to a first run production line manufacturing defect. I've been using the replacement set regularly ever since, they are permanently mounted to the M2P and I'm very pleased with the performance. They don't seem to have any effect on flight characteristics. I would suggest though, due to their very light weight and structure, they are still to be handled carefully when unfolding / folding, don't use force or bend them against their natural alignment, particularly the rear ones.

Glad they replaced them for you - be careful putting too much pressure on the front ones when folding

Thank you sir!  It looks like these do not have to be removed to fit into the bag, so has the advantages of the retractable legs I was looking for.

Yes, its a major benefit of the retract version.
