Aloha,
     Has anybody else noticed the big change in the airport restricted airspace delineations in the last couple months?  With the 5 mile airport circle restriction, I lived right on the line and had to fly toward the mountain to stay out of the Marine Corps Air Station airspace (except for Sundays).  Now, most of Kahalu'u and Waiahole - Waikane are open space!  So much more room to fly.
     And the redrawn airspace delineations are a 3.5 by 3 mile oval rather than a 5 mile circle.  But then the runway access and egress is very narrow and 10 miles each way (total 20 miles) - a very long ribbon of closed airspace.  That works for me!
     A big Mahalo! to the FAA and US flying Community for working out this airspace solution!  Great job!

     Also a big Mahalo! to DJI for the GEO Maps updates!  I thought my Live View had a problem when the first new maps were displayed.  Then I saw the new airspace design and remembered it from Mainland maps and then I realized DJI finally caught up and made it to Hawai'i!

     This is so much better!  Mahalo again!

     Yes, it is much better flying in our open spaces, but the mountains are still an amazing place to fly.  I just hope that those who have resisted updating firmware and GEOMaps updates, because they fear that it will curb their flying; will try again.  So many problems have been solved with our Geofencing and other warnings.  The technology has matured.

     Many people think where I live is one of the best places around.  In my experience though, everywhere in the world has its own beauty.  But, I do prefer beauty in warm places!

I agree, the update has been a great, I am able to fly in areas that was once restricted. Just remember to still adhere to the FAA rules in flying in certain Controlled AirSpaces.

Yeah for sure. I agree. Enjoying our winter, where it gets down to a comfy -20*C is pretty awesome.

Yes they are everywhere, I am glad because of some of the reckless flyers too.
