I'm finally back in the game! After weeks, months, of rain rain rain, then when there was a day with no rain the wind blew, or I tried to fly and the Spark refused to cooperate and would either drop from the sky or start doing the damn hop thing again. Finally today everything was looking good and I managed to get a full flight in with nothing going wrong. It's been so long it was like learning to fly all over again. I hashed this together rather fast, so sorry about the music. I just grabbed something and then it sorta worked but might not be everyones taste.

Congratulations on your return to flight! I too have been doing nothing for months and I understand. It is very sad to know that in Cairns there are no more spaces in nature for these typical animals of yours, the world is really all hurt! I don't think it often happens that you have such a concentration of kangaroos in a small space. Years ago I hoped to come to Cairns to see a total eclipse of the sun was not possible. Good video. Thank you

Thanks Astro, yes it's an unusual location for them all to be in, but it some ways its worked out as its become a bit of a tourist draw, so the attention means its more difficult for the developers to destroy their last habitat. You would have been disappointed with the sun eclipse as it was really cloudy that morning. But very strange when it got dark.

Thanks, yes a lucky coincidence of development that made it easy to film them. I was amazed that they didn't seem bothered by the drone at all. I tried filming there a few weeks ago and flew the Spark over them then it did its fall from the sky thing and crashed. I had to run to the spot on the field before I forgot where it was and my running caused all the wallabies to go bouncing off to the other end of the field.

Remember that I saw eclipses on the web and from the beach there were a lot of clouds but some friends went with a boat on a small island and it was serene there. Thanks for the clarifications.

Wonderful location and powerful clouds. You captured  very good learning material:  I didn't even realized before that there are any other species in kangaroo family. After watching your video, I went on Wiki and searched for Wallaby. And it turns out there are Wallaby, Wallaroo and Kangaroo. Sad to know about suffering condition in their habitat, hope autoriries and nature activists will do their work and save these cute animals.

Yes the clouds on the mountains have been amazing lately. There are a few other species too. Tiny tree kangaroos, rat kangaroos, rock wallabies. Very strange that they only exist in Australia. They are cute, but totally covered in ticks which many die from. It's a bit of a risk getting in that field and I checked my self well for ticks after.
