Superb, these are Nacreous clouds, rarely seen in the UK https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/wea ... er-clouds/nacreous. I’ve seen them once only.

A friend took these, noctilucent cloud photos from the North Norfolk Coast...think they are above the polar caps and 80kms up https://twitter.com/chunder10/status/1139866296693219334?s=21

If I recall correctly one school of thought believes them to be from the dust of meteorites that have burned up in our atmosphere....though there may be a newer theory now.

Congrats, they only seen in June , July maybe August here in the UK. Always fairly low down on the horizon. Two years ago at 3am I saw many stretching from the West to East, an amazing sight. Thank you for uploading your images.

beautiful images - where i live in south africa the full moon also comes up just as the sun is going down - here that happens at about 6.15 pm in winter (which is our season in the southern hemisphere now)
