Hi all. I recently bought a spark and it is flying perfectly, but I can not make it work with the otg cable. I've tried it with 2 different phones, one Motorola and one Samsung S8 with Android Pie. I already try the following:
- put the cell phone in debug usb mode
- put the USB mode in the data transfer
- Turn it on and connect it in different orders.

nothing works
some help ?

Hi,

Did you realize, that an OTG cable has a dedicated "host" end and a "client" end?
The host end of the cable goes into the R/C.
You can also experiment with various orders when powering on.

Cheers,

I did not know that. and how do I know which is the host and which is the client? The cable has a USB c male end and a common USB female end

Get an "common" USB OTG adapter, Micro USB (plug) to USB A (jack)
Into the USB A you plug your charger cable for the Samsung.
For testing.
In case it works, you order the right cable on Ebay or elsewhere

My guess is that you have a USB-C  to USB A OTG adapter for the Samsung. Right?

But it is easy to determine:
The RC HAS to charge the Android devices.
As soon the device is charging the RC: wrong OTG direction!

Have you set your spark and controler up for OTG use? Always buy the one piece OTG cable as less connection equal a better connection.

I find the OTG just always works, but I did have to try 3 times before I got a cable with a USB Micro on the host end and type C on the phone end.

This one works well:
