These are 11 common drone mistakes to avoid that might save your DJI Mavic 2 or any other DJI Drone. Most crashes are related to pilot mistakes either due to failed judgment or not knowing the expected behavior or limitation of your drone, watch along and see if you are guilty in making some these mistakes

  • Ensure your props are properly fastened w/ no cracks

  • Battery is level is good on all the equipment and secured w/ no puffing

  • Drone has no cracks and motors secure

  • Ensure all the camera gimbal protection has been removed before turning the drone on

  • GPS Signal is locked (Ready to Go), No Compass errors

  • Use 3rd person when taking-off to ensure it's clear

  • Flight sticks are all free and clear

  • Practice flying in 3rd person until mastered

  • Fly in 1st person but higher than any nearby obstacles

  • Have extreme caution when flying in directions you cannot see
  • Set the RTH higher than the tallest obstacle between you and the drone

  • Don't fly behind obstacles until the RTH is set higher

  • Don't fly further when it starts to signal break

  • Don't fly fast and close to obstacles.  Self spot if flying close to trees is required

  • Don't fly in the wet, high-winds, low visibility, or fog as it will climb.

  • Don't fly underneath things unless the RTH is set to hover or land when the signal is lost otherwise it will climb

  • Start the landing procedure when the battery life is at 35%, this way you can have a lot of time to have a smooth touchdown if any problems arise
  • Of course, when you have plenty of experience you can run everything to the limits at your own discretion where you can fly again tomorrow like you didn't fly at all today, unlike all the people who have crashed by not following these Pro tips as a true novice that thought they were Pro

I recently received my Mavic 2 Pro, and I was excited to fly my new drone. I unboxed the Mavic, and unfolded the top wings without issue. I then proceeded to attempt to unfold the other set in the same direction, until I had realized my mistake. I thought that the bottom set unfolded in the same direction as the top set. I didn’t end up breaking anything, and there is no damage, however I have found that there is some horizontal play within the bottom set of wings. There is about 1-3 mm of movement at the propeller end of the wings. Would anybody be able to check their own mavic to see if this play occurs in their units as well, as I am wondering if my mistake caused this, or if this is normal. If anybody could help it would be great. Thanks.

my biggest nightmare is #6 auto shutdown

if you have enough altitude, you might be lucky to restart it. But yes, this one is fatal

It's a script to pass the first part of CDL-A road test.  It didn't make sense going through a checklist for flight school either but it makes total sense when you are alone by yourself.  You go back to the training in the mind.  I apply the procedures before I go on my motorbike.  I check the digital tire pressure reading and other things.

Biggest mistake is buying a dji drone that comes with a STUPID and never intelligent battery. These batteries gets pregnant after 9 months of purchase (Battery swells) causing the battery to be ejected from the drone during flight, ending in a crash. dji are so devilish by indicating in their policy that batteries are covered for 6 months only, because they know that at 9 month these batteries are giving birth.
