I understand that when a robot is hit it can/will flash the led lights RED
Can the speaker be programmed to sound out when the robot is hit?
Is there an onboard health bar that shows spectators how much health each robot has?
I'm really keen to understand from the spectator's viewpoint what they will see, how they can follow the progress of a match etc.
In my experience, the robot does make an impact sound when it's hit (at least with the IR beam). It's very helpful to have audible feedback when you're pommeling an enemy bot sufficiently!
Designers should put themselves in the position of the audience member, what do they see? How does a viewer know what is going on, who's robot is close to death etc.

As an enemy tank takes hits, the LEDs on the gimal blink and extinguish one by one. When they're down to only one LED, you know another shot or two will finish them off. Had a blast with this yesterday in a 3-tank Free-for-All.
