If you could have any DJI backup drone to the M2P what would you buy right now. I am asking because I just put my M2P in a tree. Bad site survey!

I think I’d get a Mavic Air.  It’s half the price, still has nice image and video quality, and is still compact.

I say the original Mavic pro.

I’m with Woe and that’s exactly what I have. You can do a lot in post production with After Effects or similar...you can even make hitting a tree interesting...just sayin...

The Spark - its highly affordable and you are not bothered by the expense of having to replace the drone if something happens to it such as putting one in a tree.

As a back up to the M2P I'd get the Mavic Air

If I could have any DJI drone for backup I would have another M2P,  that way I only need one set of accessories.

I already have the Air, so yeah.  I would prefer the Mavic 2 Zoom or another 2 Pro.

Mavic Pro is still a great machine. I still fly my original one which I keep as a backup machine.

UPDATE: While the M2P was still in the tree. (can someone tell me how to post jpeg's please) I purchased a Zoom.  I have a smart controller and all the goodies that go with the M2P.  I got the M2P out of the tree today it was 70 feet AGL and cost me $200.00 for a bucket lift.  It was not damaged at all even the propellers were fine. I better go back and listen to the lecture on SITE SURVEY in Drone Pilot Ground School before I take the FAA Part 107 test! Thank you all for your input.

First try get M2P back, Mavic Air has dropped in price recently, it’s a great drone for the price, orignal MP would also be a great choice, for me though I think zoom would be my choice , best new tech and some nice extras not on any other drone .

Mavic 2 Pro Zoom

I have the mp2 and got the zoom as second drone. Handy as you can use the same batteries and same controllers. I got the smartcontroller and it is only 1 touchscreen button to press for linking the second drone. I use the original controller as dual or back controller. Regarding batteries and controller saves you a lot of space in bsckpack when travelling

I've got the original Mavic Pro that never gets flown any more. My back up these days is a Mavic Air.
