This is completely beyond idiotic ! These are the kind of wanna-be pilots that ruin it for the rest of the responsible owners/pilots.

Yup, all we need is for some politician or media coverage to use this as reference for 'the dangers of drones' and how they need to be restricted.  I can see it now, "Today, it's fireworks.  Tomorrow, it can be live rounds being fired into a crowd with the same deadly accuracy.  What if your child was in that crowd?  Do you feel safe with these potential threats flying overhead?".
