I'd really like to buy an Inspire 1, but I read something, that only iPad is supported at the moment.
This would be a problem, since I only have Android devices.

And if Android is supported, how ist the device connected to the drone? Cable or WiFi like the older models?
And if Android ist NOT supported, when can we expect Android support?

On the contrary of the rumor that you have heard, Inspire app support both iOS and Android device.  The connection is made via a USB cable from the back of the remote controller to the mobile device that you have.
