After using it for a while it feels basically the same as the Standard controller.  I get cut-outs like I would on the Standard, but the time it takes to get up in the air compared to setting up your phone is incredibly quicker.

I wouldn't recommend upgrading the standard one for "range".  I haven't tried the P4PV2.0 yet as I do not have access to the Beta firmware to tell.

Every time the P4PV2.0 gets turned off I need to get GPS lock again.  When I relocate w/ my M2P it already has satellite connection and home point registered after power up.

I feel I have better cinematic control w/ the P4PV2.0 controller than I do w/ the Smart Controller.  I have to set the gimbal dial sensitivity to 2 to keep it smooth.  3 is too fast and 1 is too slow unless I'm in tripod mode.  I can set 8 or 10 w/ the P4 controller and it's great.  There has to be a way for DJI to set some expo to the dial.

Why would you think the range would be any different?   They both have the same output.

I think there should be more consistence in settings between different DJI equipments like the gimbal pitch sensitivity...

Simple.  The output is actually lower.  Just as I stated.  Show me where they advertise greater range?

The smart RC has a lower output. The range in a CE area is 4KM with the smart RC and 5KM with the standard RC

No idea Ant - the range in the US is still 8KM on both but you'll notice the dBm is slightly lower in FCC too on the Smart RC so more likely to lose signal at long distance. Probably due to all of the added features but I guess on DJI can advise why.

It's not that, you lose signal more than the Standard controller when obstacles exist.

That would be typical with a lower dBm. Are you enjoying the smart controller or do you regret buying it?

If I can get more than 4MBps on the P4PV2.0 when the firmware update comes out, it's an upgrade but P4PV2.0 is only used for mapping now.

The controller feel of the P4 is so much better but the feed is pretty garbage. C4K60 is a definite plus of the Phantom though.
