Got authorization from e-AAN.pt in portugal to fly over this beautiful historic structure known as the Tower of Belem or Tower of St. Vincent. Video is a little rough and my flying was not as precise as I would have wanted being nervous as my wife kept warning me of angry birds. Lisbon is a beautiful city and getting authorization to fly a drone in Portugal is not that difficult, I wish some countries would copy their system as it's pretty much straight forward. Hope you enjoy.

Can you please be more specific about the procedure to get authorization? Where do I go within AAN.pt site?

First go to https://backoffice.aan.pt/checklogin and sign up. Answer all the questions and they will provide you with a password. You will get emails from them and one is a letter (proving it's you) that must signed notarized and mailed to them (slow method) the other way is to digitally sign the letter and email it to them. Once that's done you can enter info about your drone, insurance (not needed) and then create a flight plan which they will approve. The only problem is that most of these applications are in Portuguese. I don't speak Portuguese but I do speak Spanish which is close enough. They do respond quickly, but will let you know of their decision a few days before your flight, so starting the application process early is important.

Thanks, I will surely go back to Portugal sometime and that's very useful info (when I was there last, I didn't own a drone yet).

Nice work.  Now you have me intrigued.  Going back to the Azores next year but schlepping a drone might be onerous as we do a lot of one night hotel stays
