My company uses a DJI Inspire 2 (running a ZenMuse X4S camera) to map large roadway construction sites. We have used several apps, including DJI GSPro, but mainly an app called Map Pilot (by Maps Made Easy).

Recently we've been seeing some issues while capturing photos via autonomous flight. The drone and camera usually operate normally for the first 15 minutes, up until the first battery change, but upon resuming autonomous flight, the drone never takes pictures again. Either this, or the interval between captured pictures is very sporadic. Again, we've had the same problems of sporadic, inconsistent photo captures even while using GSPro.

We've tried narrowing-in on potential problems by doing the following:
- Replaced iPad/iPhone-to-controller cables
- Replaced SD card
- Inspected camera connections
- Verified latest firmware
- Calibrated camera and other sensors using Assistant 2
- Verified latest versions of apps
- Used controller devices in air-conditioned vehicles (the weather has been increasingly hot recently; though we did have a cooler day recently, but still ran into the same issues)
- Allowed drone to cool between flights
- Hot-swapped batteries (to prevent drone from turning off between battery changes)
- Full-restart of drone, apps, iPads, controllers, etc between flights
- Used a Mavic to test alternatives; yielded similar results.

Does anyone have any idea why our drone isn't consistently taking photos while flying autonomously? Has anyone had problems similar to this? We're getting desperate, as we're not able to deliver flights on a mounting list of high-dollar jobs.

Well, the very last position on your list suggests that this is not the machine fault, but rather software difficulties to continue the job after coffee break. Indeed, many apps seem to be troubled when forced to perform split missions. Solution? Program multiple overlapping flights for one set of batteries each.
