Hi all,

I have a question and woul appreciate if you can help me. I know in DJI app if I click advanced mode it goes into manual mode. I turn the advanced mode off but still I feel it's not in fully automatic mode as I still need to change the exposure using camera setting dial to have a clear picture (not too dark, or not too bright). Is it the case or I am missing soemthing? Don't we have fully automatic mode? I see many great pictures posted by people, are those taken using fully manual mode?

Thank you!

When you press the manual mode button ( three lines below teh camera shutter ) it will turn blue and enter manual mmde. You can then fiddle with the options on the left. Press the same button again and it WILL revert to auto mode. If you just swipe the manual settings box it will disappear but remain in manual..

Hope this helps.. if not, can you record a short video demonstrating what yuo mean?

Thank you for your response.

I have a sample picture here:

Obviously the settings are not well done for this picture. I should do it myself with the camera setting dial on the controller to have the right lighting. If I use that dial once it goes into manual mode? I am jsut wondering how I can have it on fully automatic mode so I don't need to worry about the lighting while doing video. Maybe something is wrong with my setup/phantom?

Thank you for your response.

Personally, I thought Sploodge was spot-on with his description of what you need to do.

Look at the main screen on your Pilot app - the screen that lets you see what the camera sees.
Down toward the lower right-hand corner, there's an icon that looks like three lines with a dot in the middle of each line. That button lets you alternate between manual and auto.

If the icon is highlighted, you're in MANUAL mode.
If the button is NOT highlighted, you're in AUTO mode.

If you tap on the button when it's not highlighted, you enter manual mode. The button now becomes highlighted and a window opens on the left side of the display. You can see there are three settings in the window - ISO, Shutter and EV. You can make adjustments on each of these. When you have finished with your adjustments SWIPE THE WINDOW OFF THE SCREEN.

WARNING WARNING WARNING - if you tap the button again to close the window, you will be going right back into AUTO mode!!

Again - if the icon is highlighted, you're in MANUAL mode.
Button NOT highlighted - you're in AUTO mode.

Thanks for the clarification:

"When you have finished with your adjustments SWIPE THE WINDOW OFF THE SCREEN." I had trouble with this too, and I tried 'swiping' but nothing worked. It's the "OFF THE SCREEN" comment that cleared this up. Succinct descriptions still need details. :  )

My issues came during night flights, trying to keep the manual mode up while trying to maximize the camera window for previews. So this minimizing trick is really important.

Thanks...

I'm running the Android version of the Pilot app. Amazingly - well, it's certainly amazing to me! - after selecting manual mode, every time I fly and the Pilot app comes on, I'm *still* in manual mode.
Whatever else has gone wrong, gotta love the thing remembering to stay in manual.

Guess these days it only takes small miracles to keep me happy! LOL

How do I access manual camera mode on the original Avata? I cannot adjust my ISO and shutter speed withing my Googles Integra camera setting menu. I can only set the max ISO value. Please help!
