After 2605 km and near 85 h air time my Mavic crashed!
I was expecting something to happen with my old trusty bird But Not this stupid thing - Battery error on a Brand NEW battery I bought 2 weeks ago (as my old ones swell)
I was heading home when Error message tells me to hurry home and land and 400+ meters from me it starts landing - lost connection and because of coming darkness (reaching the place thru the forest and bushes took some time in the wild ) I found it just this morning. steal waiting to dry properly from morning dew .. but gimble is broken and on of the legs cracked.
So no new clips soon unless I buy a new Mavic 2 Pro but this price tag is killing me if I find some good deal I'll go for it

For sure, as damages are supposedly minor. At the moment investigating possibilities, already have an offer but is 100 km away and they require 5 days - means 2 travels so looking for alternatives

wow that battery took a sh*t pretty hard..  at least it wasn't your piloting skills that crashed it but rather battery failure forcing it because of extreme cell to cell voltage deviation.  

because of the battery error on a new battery that took out your drone, you maybe able to win a warranty claim out of it for a replacement drone.   however it will be an uphill battle unless you can get a higher up within DJI to take your side.

Ouch, sorry that it happened to you, hopefully it's just your landing gear and ribbon cable for the gimbal that's damaged, should be very cheap to fix if that's the case.

Wow, so sorry to hear about your problem but i'm so impressed with the 2605 Km, as I said WOW!!!!

You've had quite a long run with that MP with no crashes - well done. It happens to the best of us. Good to see your description and data to go along.  You could always replace it with another orinigal MP if the MP2 is out of the price range. Seen the MP for well under the MP2 price point.

Already sent for repair AND M2P both and under tests (first clip Very soon )

You got a lot of miles/km out of that one Alex. You're one good pilot for sure!

Yes, 5 out of 7 are for the trash bin for 2 years - pretty expensive

awe shucks that's a bummer dude, hope it all works out...keeping my fingers crossed for you and all of us. Isn't it the best day the day you bring the new drone home but the worst day when you crash, but look on the bright side obviously if you get long periods of usage then the good days are better, longer, and more than the bad....

The night I waited I was more worried that last mark was in some fenced area (somebody was keeping his horses there) that it might fealt on something - luckily Mavic was outside in a field with minor problems (remain to be seen) But You are right new bird inspires to go and try

That's a good way to look at it I guess there are those situations when the drone enters some unforeseen obstacles that bring down its demise, my travels I generally keep the drone at safe altitudes and this narrows the risk of the drone crashing or coming into risk with outside obstacles...

It really won't be that hard to fix on your own Alex. If you are able to get the parts there. I've fixed the gimbal and camera on one of mine before. The arms you can buy so it shouldn't be more than a $300-$400 USD fix. If you want to put that amount of money in it and it might be cheaper than that too.

The initial offer was even lower this guy have a repair shop and I both M2P from him - next week I'll know better - But now enjoying M2P

No, this battery I both from a guy in FB who both Fly more combo abroad (he says) so no warranty for the battery the other 2 are under warranty and I even try to ask DJI what if the battery is in warranty and Mavic is not but crashed because of her... no answer
