Is it possible DJI to create lighter battery for Spark, perhaps will have short life around 10 minutes which is bad but will be free of registration and new resictions laws in Europe and Canada.

Regular Spark battery weight is 98g  it will be good if Dji reduce battery weight to 50g. It will be simple solution and Spark will fit on 250g.

With half the battery weight, the flight time will be not more as half, so 5 to 6 minutes, real time, mostly. Why not wait for the Air Mini? ;-)

Sure I saw that, but at this moment Mavic Mini is only rumor and eventually we will see it this October or next year. Will be great if Dji release drone with 4k camera under 250g.
Here, I am talking about for Spark owners - in case Dji make smaller and lighter battery around 50g. for Spark will be good for people which prefer to keep their Sparks and don't want to buy new drone like Mavic Mini .

Is it just my negative thinking or is there a big chance, that the rules will get adapted, soon after a 4k drone with just 249g and still 10+ min. flight times plus "normal" flight altitudes and x kilometer radio control availability will enter the market?

They just need to change on thing, not even touching the 249 g.
Just have to make it a "must register" , as soon there is a camera on bord.

"Bad" excample, in Thailand even the Tello has to be registered, b/c of the cam.

And I really dont think, other countries will let slip a "real" drone with low weight, because they made up this 249g. limit BEFORE there was a real drone under that weight. Adapting laws, that will happening

Anyway, I have no problem with registering my flying cams.
I would just like it a easy process, perhaps registered in your home country, and in case you wanna fly in a foreign country, the data get officially passed to the other country.
But also it need to become easy, to get a worldwide  drone insurance in the home country of the pilots!

Just saying ;-)

Possibly but I think its more about weight,  as 250g falling out of the sky will do a lot less damage than nearly 1kg Mavic 2 Pro.

What will keep regulators to change  the laws to 200g or less?

Perhaps.
But do you think, a small 250g drone, falling from 100m onto your head, is a big difference, to a 300g. drone, falling from 50m?

My guess, the 250g was, at that time, expert opinion what drone makers can create as video/photo drones with gimbal, 4k, distance, height, flight time abilities.

But we will find out, in the nearest future, for sure

You know what I meant after this video but 250g is still the magic number that most of us wants it to be
