Here is one last entry on this cool contest:
This past weekend, my family's last Summer weekend, we went to the Douro Valley in Portugal to enjoy some soothing riverside sunbathing, with the eventual dip in the water and some wine tasting to help us endure those hot summer days.

To create this video I filmed in 4k at 30 frames per second, ISO at 100, shutter speed at 60 (which normaly should be twice your frame rate), with the ND4/PL and ND8/PL of my Neewer Near Density Polarized filters on my DJI Mavic Air during Golden Hour.
The Golden Hour, and also the blue hour, are my last tips from this series of posts I've been creating for this contest. This makes your photography look a bit magical and it's even called as “magic hour” by a lot of people. There are plenty of websites around that display huge lists of reasons to convince you to shoot during golden hour.
I'll convince you with these simple 7 reasons:
- Shoot the Sunrises and Sunsets - enjoy the little things in live. Go after the golden hour! Get out of bed, create the routine to take a moment for a quick stroll, take some snaps and catch that sunrise from an amazing spot that is usually busy or make take the challenge of making a regular sight look special with that morning light. Most importantly: enjoy the peace and quiet before the rest of the world is up.
- Turn any regular sight into magic - during golden hour/blue hour any photo can become dreamy and beautiful. Use it to your advantage and take photos even when your subject might not look so spectacular. You will be surprised with the results.
- Less people around - specially during the blue hour in the morning. For landscape shots I prefer to have less people in the photos, but if you want to create a different atmosphere you can always shoot during golden hour at the end of day, where you will should have more people arount to enjoying the sunset.
- Warmer colors - usually evoke positive feelings such as happiness, excitement, and optimism.
- Unwanted shadows and side light - light comes from a low angle and from one side only, illuminating the the modell's face, landscape, etc from the side and not from above. You might still have to deal with other shadows, but you can save yourself so much pain in post processing.
- Silhouettes and Backlights - with the light coming from behind your model/subject it gives you a lot of artistic possibilities.
- Sunstars, sunflairs and other optical effects - with the light being so low you can use these optical effects that you might I like to explore.
