Hi all -
It was recommended that I post about this here in the hopes it might get some traction and attention.
For a full run-down and detail of the history - feel free to read the original thread here: https://mavicpilots.com/threads/mavic-air-took-off-by-itself-ascended-to-400m-and-then-crashed-no-input.70127/
The TLDR version is I got my Mavic Air at the end of July - charged up the battery, updated all the software and firmware. Took it outside and the app insisted I go into Simulator mode, so I obliged. After running Simulator mode for a short while - and while still actively in that mode - the props of the aircraft powered up and the aircraft launched high into the sky. Ascended on its on, with no user inputs, with the exception of pressing the RTH button - which didn't work. The aircraft then travelled about 100 metres and then crashed.
Clearly a concerning issue and worry - considering I was in Simulator mode and it actually took off. At this point my on-going interactions with DJI support have been incredibly lackluster and they flat out refuse to acknowledge the clear evidence that has been presented - which all can be found in the above reference thread. But, I'll provide the key details here - unfortunately the constraints of this forum won't allow the .DAT files to be posted nor the image from the flight itself. See the other thread for those details.
Clearly the KML data is extraordinary - and the EXIF data from the photo clearly logs the GPS coordinates near China - where I was in Brisbane, Australia.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts and insights here. I just simply want a replacement of the drone that took off by itself before I was ever able to even use the aircraft.
Happy to provide any clarification or additional details along the way too.
