I bought a used Phantom 4, it works as-is but says it needs a firmware upgrade.  Watched the video and installed DJI Assistant 2 for Phantom on my computer.  When I run the Assistant 2 program and plug the drone into the computer the program doesn't recognize the drone.  I've tried plugging in before and after powering up, with and without the controller running/connected and get the same result.  What am I missing?  I am connecting to the computer using the micro usb connection on the drone and usb input on the computer.  

maybe your computer and your phantom 4 don't match with each other? Have you try  on other computers?

Yes, I first was trying on a Mac.  Thought it might be a glitch with the Mac version so I downloaded the Assistant 2 program to my PC but got the exact same result.  As a last ditch effort I bought the cord that allows you to connect the drone to the controller and just tried to upgrade from the controller.  I clicked OK after it showed me the wiring diagram but nothing happened.  Beginning to think the mini USB plug on the drone might be defective.  

I can't flash my keyboard on Win7 SP1 x64. Same issue. So i use my laptop with Win10 to flash AP2 and it works.  What also works for me: On PC with Win7 i run VM with kUbuntu 19.04, forwarded AP2 from host into VM (for normal mode and for IAP mode, twice in total), installed ObinsKit into VM and was able to flash keyboard from VM so it's the matter of USB drivers, i guess.
