This place is difficult to reach from the land. The overgrown path is narrow and dangerously steep in places. When you eventually reach this spot, it is easy to imagine that it is the only place left on the planet.
There are no people. No noise, just the gentle sound of the sea caressing the rocks. Even the screech of gulls or twitter of other birds are missing. The phone gets no signal, so there is no longer a connection with humanity.
The place is a sun trap and coastal winds become the faintest breeze in this sheltered spot.
The Germans destroyed the pier during WW2 to stop the attacking forces from sneaking in (there weren't any, the British evacuated the island before the German's arrived and never returned during the war). Obviously, no German officer had been down there, because the climb up is a killer.
The good thing is, the Mavic Pro worked fine and captured this shot. I hope you like it.
Not the place to visit if you have a dicky ticker or are unfit...
