Is it not possible to hit the camera button to take a still shot when also videoing at the same time?

Hello and good day TimothyD. Thank you for reaching out and for the inquiry. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro and the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom unfortunately these drone do not support Photo in Video function. It means that you can not take still photos while you are videoing. Thank you.

Upon checking  the DJI Mavic Air. I am sorry to say that the DJI Mavic Air is not capable or does not support function ( photo in video ) as well. Thank you.

You can always save a frame from the video, but the quality is not as good.
