I recently bought a DJI phantom 4 standard and tried return to home about four hundred feet away from me. It turns back to me, climbs to its set altitude then stops. But instead of returning, it just keeps climbing in altitude, and won’t stop! I’ve tried resetting factory defaults and a refresh on the software. Anyone else experiencing this? A fix would be most appreciated!

The Phantom will do one of three things on an RTH depending on your settings in the Go4 app. It can return to home, land, or hover in place. If you RTH within 100 feet or so of the rc it’ll just land where it is so be aware of that.  Check those settings and if it’s not that some other knowledgeable member will come to your aid.

Was the return path towards a low, bright sun perhaps?
That would be seen as an obstacle and trigger the behaviour you describe.
As with most unexpected flight incidents, the recorded flight data will show what was really going on.
Data is much more accurate than guessing.

No, it goes to its max altitude, and just sits there. Pls help!

I was a few hundred feet out, and it goes to its max altitude, then just stands there.

Please post the flight record txt file if you want any better.
