Flying with the controller and Appel Ipad I cannot access the smart controls,  on the lefts side of the DJI Go4 app screen, the transmitter icon is missing. Anyone knows what is the problem??

I had it in the air and GPS was showing, I also reinstalled the latest DJI Go4 and still nothing. Spark has given nothing but problems, not much joy.

The latest Go4?
Are you on Droid?
device name/spec?
Go to apkmirror and get the version 4.2.21
Plus google go4 mod 2.0, a version 4.1.15
This one can be installed ASSIDE the original go4, so even aside your newest, in case you wanna test!

Check if you have Sport mode enabled. Intelligent flight modes only work in P-GPS mode (not in Sport).

Can you please try to check if you are in P-Mode since the intelligent flight modes like what Wolferl said on post #6 will only work on P-GPS mode. Also, can you please try to sync all of your flight records in the application and try to uninstall and reinstall the application to see if the problem will still persist. Please keep us posted. That has happen to anyone, once or twice somehow, I would guess.
In other modes the app is telling you "not permitted"
I'd say it would be better, to do that here to.
Instead of not showing the button, DJI, the message "not permitted", in case pilots try to use the modes in Sport setting, could help to solve that on the spot
