Late in 2017 there were reports of loss of X5 compatibility with the  Panasonic Lumix G Vario 35-100mm f/4.0-5.6 after a DJI firmware upgrade.  Is this still the case?

This lens was never officially compatible with any X5 generation camera. It will fit, but will require complex balancing on camera back and will not calibrate. Most likely manual focusing and zooming will be the only option.
