I have been dealing with this issue all day after receiving my DJI Mavic Air. I have an iPhone with iOS 13.2.2. I am unable to use the remote as it crashes before finishing the Fly Safe Database update. I am using a MacBook Pro with macOS Catalina 10.15.1 and this is what I have done so far.
- Download the DJI Assistant 2 application and install.
- You may need to install or have issues install HoRNDIS due to Catalina, but if you go here: https://github.com/jwise/HoRNDIS/issues/102 and download the ZIP provided by d235j, you can install it separately.
- After installing DJI Assistant 2 and HoRNDIS, restart Mac.
- DJI Assistant 2 should now be able to recognize both the Mavic Air and RC controller. Update the firmware on both of them manually. If the controller or Mavic are both up to date, go ahead and reinstall the firmware to the latest anyways.
- You should be able to install the Fly Safe Database update just fine.
- Connecting via RC controller to Mavic Air using app now does not prompt for Fly Safe Database update, but still crashes within ~7-10 seconds.
- Using Airplane Mode works but as soon as its turned off, update attempts to be done and app crashes.

Now I am attempting to see if there is a way to roll back the DJI Go 4 app.

Same issue with my Air, IOS 13.2.2 and DJI Go 4 version 4.3.28

Just got my 1st Mavic Air on today, after the App Crashed 30 times and reinstalled 10 times, the Mavic Air still on the ground.

I Just purchased a Mavic Air and have had NO success in using DJI Go4.  Been in touch with tech and they tell me that they will have the apple app fixed by mid November....It is now past that date. They tell me to go and buy an Android and run the app; but I have 4 apple products and do not need an android.(other than running djigo4).  I just downloaded "Litchi" and will give that app a go on my apple devices.
Your post are dated 2 weeks ago.......any success yet with the apple app????

I had the same issue. Installed 4.3.29 and the app still crashes. .

Finally I managed it to work by uninstalling and installing .29

Now everything is working perfectly

iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 14.2 here. App immediately crashes upon opening and will not open at all. When I open the app in Airplane Mode it stays open but asks me to sign into my account which I cannot do because i do not have wifi in airplane mode. Is there a fix for this or is my Mavic 2 Pro useless during this bug? Disabling wifi seems to be the thing that crashes the app from what i've observed.
