I have been dealing with this issue all day after receiving my DJI Mavic Air. I have an iPhone with iOS 13.2.2. I am unable to use the remote as it crashes before finishing the Fly Safe Database update. I am using a MacBook Pro with macOS Catalina 10.15.1 and this is what I have done so far.
- Download the DJI Assistant 2 application and install.
- You may need to install or have issues install HoRNDIS due to Catalina, but if you go here: https://github.com/jwise/HoRNDIS/issues/102 and download the ZIP provided by d235j, you can install it separately.
- After installing DJI Assistant 2 and HoRNDIS, restart Mac.
- DJI Assistant 2 should now be able to recognize both the Mavic Air and RC controller. Update the firmware on both of them manually. If the controller or Mavic are both up to date, go ahead and reinstall the firmware to the latest anyways.
- You should be able to install the Fly Safe Database update just fine.
- Connecting via RC controller to Mavic Air using app now does not prompt for Fly Safe Database update, but still crashes within ~7-10 seconds.
- Using Airplane Mode works but as soon as its turned off, update attempts to be done and app crashes.
Now I am attempting to see if there is a way to roll back the DJI Go 4 app. |
