I haven't bought my drone yet either.
I want to use one to fly a cosplay baby yoda egg.
I don't have a design because i don't know singst capacities or whether to lift from above or below.

Well, since we don't have the exact date for the new Mavic (between 2020 and 2022) I would recommend buying the Mini. But don't take my advice as your final decision, it's all up to you.

Your drone selection will all come down to what you want to accomplish. I have had a Phantom 4, Mavic Pro, and now a Mavic Pro 2. I loved the Phantom a lot but it was a bit  bulky when trying to travel with it. I found the Mavic to be a great size and now the Mavic 2 has the upgraded camera so its even better. I would watch a tone of videos on some of the pros and cons of different types and then you can feel confident about your selection.

Mavic 2 Pro if you can

mavic 2 zoom! i bet you didn't know that it can zoom up to 96mm instead of just 48mm? all you have to do is change itto 1080p footage and boom!

I'd recommend the Mavic Air 2 now.

There are so many models off drones out there now so if you were to have a look at the top ten to fifty drones you will find they will change a little depending who's carrying out the review, but you should expect to observe a number of the same names cropping up repeatedly. Once more dropping them can only enable the selection process for the perfect drone to you.

The Husban X4 is one of the greatest drones offered in the market for drone pilots. It has a compact design and does not cost that much either. You can secure this car for as low as $80. Besides the low price, the Husban X4 is very simple to fly. The controller is easy and quite intuitive. You would not have any trouble in understanding its different manners. This drone has a camera attached to it as well for taking photos but it will not have the ability to capture high quality images as it's a newcomer version.

I wish that DJI can add 4K Optical Zoom in/out for Mavic Air 2 and  Zoom mode could support 4K HDR 60fps.

The optics of such a zoom would actually be in the hardware of the lens - so it is not something they can add through firmware. The fact the MA2 has any zoom is a bonus. I'm quite impressed with the quality of the 4K digital zoom - practically lossless up to x1.5.

I also don't think we'll see HDR video at 60p let alone with zoom feature added - it would take too much processing power.

Maybe DJI will release the next drone - Mavic Air 3 with all the features I am waiting for soon ...
For now, Mavic Air 2 is still my best choice.
