Over here survival very much depends. Not just about the usual stuff like, age, health and location. Often we hear from the likes of train companies that it is the wrong type of snow, or we didnt expect snow (in the winter) so that why the trains were delayed, cancelled or crashed. Where you live RHP no doubt all the providers expect snow and cold temperatures and are ready for it.
Of course we have the same problems in autumn, "wrong sort of leaves on the line" and of course summer "Phew, what a scorcher, our rails are bent"
Tis a good point, harsher climates are prepared as the more extremes are expected, where as here in the UK, our 1st sign that the UK Winter is going to be a warm one is when this is published
UK heavy snow alert: Britain faces COLDEST winter in decades - long-range weather forecast
As seen every single year, just the wording slightly changes and its always the same drivvle from the same reporter, odds favour him to be right at least once in his career, so if he keeps writing it every year, one year he will be right.
Even Scotland is more prepared than England because its more likely than not to be a cold winter...
I myself prefer to fly when its snowed, the scenery is more favourable, Autumn is another fave but its wasted around here as the forest is a nfz as professed by the National Forest... |
