Novice video shooter. Please take a look at the video clip below. What could I have done differently to reduce the apparent motion blur of this clip? Notice the steel studs in the foreground.

Does increasing the shutter speed when filming lateraly to your subject improve the quality? Fly slower?

Mavic Pro 2, 24 FPS, 1/50 shutter speed.

I don't seem to see this much motion blur when flying towards or away from my subject with the same camera settings.

You are using 24 FPS and you will get motion blur. Use higher frame rate to get that soap opera look on your videos.

30 fps or higher?

This is exactly what you want to reduce stuttering.
A little bit of motion blur.
Most prominent when moving sideways or panning.
If you set the shutterspeed higher, it will go away BUT you will get stuttering in return
You might want to try 1/100s to see how that looks.

Unfortunately the Mavic Pro does not offer a lot  with regards to the framerate (unless in 1080p)
Because at 50fps you can set the shutterspeed to 1/100s and get away with it easily.

The thing you can however do is move more slowly!
That is probably the best solution for this (plus you get cinematic / smooth footage as a bonus)

Trying to improve this. This clip was shot at 4K, 30 fps, 1/120 sec shutter. I also tried flying slower too.  Not much if any improvement. The individual frames appear to be sharper.

Any other suggestions?

Here are some new test clips:

#1) 2.7K, shot @ 60fps, 1/120 sec shutter speed, Cinematic Mode

https://vimeo.com/user980026/review/376921678/220a60dcc7

#2) Further away. 2.7K, shot @ 60fps, 1/120 sec shutter speed, Cinematic Mode.

https://vimeo.com/user980026/review/376923218/7cc416ff47

#3) 4K, @ 30fps, 1/60 sec shutter speed, Cinematic Mode.

#4 Further away. Also 4K, @ 30fps, 1/60 sec shutter speed, Cinematic Mode

Definitely better at 2.7K and 1/120 sec vs the 1/60 but still not as good as I would like it to be.
