Good luck, though I do think it a cynical way of selling "specially purchased" i.e. stock being superseded, but who knows...;-)

Exactly, and a few Osmo Mobile 2 at £69 a hit towards the cheaper "me too" copies ;-)
Spent a chunk on a new travel tripod for a trip to Tenerife, that and the deposit on the holiday = living off bread and water for the next month or so!

which tripod did you get.  My manfrotto is great but too heavy.

Yeah. Usually is.
Still, if you are in the market for one of these, it is a nice way of saving some of your well earned money.

(I usually wait for a discount like this, because I don't need the latest and greatest gear)

I had an 055 Pro, which was superb, took the usual camera heads, plus the Vixen Porta 11 mount to hold my telescope, but for walking around the  national park in Tenerife, at night ...nah!
They had in store two of the heavier weight BeFree Advanced, a GT at £159, so I traded in my 055 and old ball head and got that instead. Is not on the LCE website, so suspect soon to be replaced, but has rated weight of 10Kgs, so probably 7.5 easily. 43 cms long so fits inside my "Carry on" bag too.

Thanks, now I’ve a Sony Mirrorless camera, no need for such a sturdy one as the 055. Hopefully will still be as good as the 055 was after 5 years of use.

I try very hard not to use Amazon, the way that they treat their staff at the fulfilment centres, the way that they do all they can to legally avoid paying taxes etc...I'd much rather support my local retailers, be they an indie that's part of a  group like London Camera Exchange or a big chain like Jessops. Appreciate that not everyone can do so though. All the best. Chris
