Recently purchased a mavic mini. Was not given an option to choose a model on purchase, and received the model only compatible with 5.8ghz. Upon contacting dji, received barely a response that makes sense, and not sure how to order one that supports both 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz as the 2.4 is typically Better for longer range with less interference. Any help?

Move to Europe that’s the only way, but I can’t see why you’d want to, range will be 2k even in the US better having your 5.8 with 4K range .

5.8ghz has a stronger signal, but shorter range. I barely get 1.5km and even the smallest interference or obstruction loses connection and return to home kicks in. Would rather have farther range. Also, the drone is marketed as having 4km range, but nowhere does it say that you can only get that range with a specific model or based on where you live

You live in the USA and that determines which model you get. You got the FCC version which is 5.8 GHZ@ 30 dBI which transmits twice as powerful as the CE version which has both bands. Like others has said, in order to get one that has 2.4 GHZ band, you would have to live somewhere that’ has those restrictions to get a CE model at half the power of the FCC version .

Line 3 describes the difference in FCC and CE version. That’s at the bottom of the page of the DJI Mavic mini  web page.

Yes, most are European model with 2.4ghz. When you purchase here in the US, you receive the 5.8ghz model by default apparently.

All Russia only wants the 5.8 G version, you got the mavic mini with the biggest power output!
Rejoice.
In Moscow, this drone CE version flies at 500 meters.
