I can see the mavic mini getting lost/runaway  or crashed and users needing just the drone replaced. Will there be a drone only available for purchase in the future? I think having a cheaper replacement would give people more confidence in purchasing this drone.

Not sure, but probably no. Just like other DJI drone there's no standalone version (drone only). In the future there will be refurbished unit for sure
