Hi all,
I have been happy with my MM replacement but today I encountered the shake or jello effect. It was pretty cold about 1c but I flew in -2 with no problems. Previous shots this day were ok. I think me changing my fps from 30 to 60 may have had an effect.

I really hope this is fixable through firmware. I really don't want to get another replacement.

It's not too bad but definitely noticeable.

Yes, it was really broken. Gimbal not working at all, gps module error, barometer error.

But was that after a crash or a brand new unit?

I have had no crashes. 1st drone was DOA, broken when received.

Wow  what a bad luck! The 1st one was a seriously faulty unit.
Does gimbal calibrates correctly?

Hi, I just tested the calibration and it was successful. I noticed that I shot 2 videos where the drone was on the ground and I hadn't taken off. The 1st clip was shot in 30fps (1080) and the 2nd one in 60fps. Both had the shake.

I will have to do more testing but if this issue only shows up on cold days and not warm, then I'm not too worried. Maybe a firmware update would solve it.

Oh, and I did use a landing pad, no snow got on the drone.

Interesting if is related to cold... more testing and answers from DJI will give us more clues.

obviously this has to do with colder temperatures and that the drone is getting climatized BEFORE flying. Here is a youtube video about that:

Yes, I saw a video from Captain Drone where it took 15mins for the gimbal to warm up. Again, I don't mind if it doesn't happen on warm days.

My video shows the jello in the cold at around 1min mark

How cold was it? For me the longer it is out in the cold before flying the earlier it appears (based on a few fligths). I had no issues when flying 10min in -2 but that was straight from indoors so the drone was still warm. In my clips I carried it in a bag and I had flown about 6min before that flight so it got cold.

It was about 1c so possibly less in the air.

Yeah is perfect now! and they didn't have to change the planets climate which is much better!

Looks like a cold morning tomorrow for me so I'll be giving it a quick flight to see if it gets the jello effect. It didnt today but I think it was more like 1-2c. Tomorrow it should be significantly lower.

It got warmer here today so I had no shaking. I haven't updated yet but I'll test the new firmware when it gets colder. If its fixed, I applaud DJI for sorting through these problems!

Its been radical change for me, so very happy, also noticed increased battery life somehow but I may be wrong.

/\ I too thought that. I assumed it was just a placebo but even thrashing it around it still seemed to do well. I'll try and get a 10-20min flight in first thing tomorrow morning if it's not naff weather.
