Flying a M210 V2 RTK that is three weeks old. First few flights were fine, then on a job last week that took 650 images, I found the focus didn't move once. Noticed the slightly off focus images on site, but tapped the screen to see the AF green box and thought it was just the Crystalsky and flying in temps below freezing (the screen had been lagging and loosing color often throughout the 4 hour job). In the office I saw that the focus was completely unresponsive. Removed the lens from the gimbal and replaced it back onto the gimbal and found the focus working again.

Now just got back into the office from re-shooting the previous job to find that half my images are again useless. I'm finding the focus seems to work but only manually after taping the screen or turning AF off then back on again, it is not focusing with every image. Our old P4P had a button that focused at half push, & shutter trigger at full push, seems the M210 is all shutter trigger, no focus.  I am using the RC muff/cover to keep the hands warm and cannot tap the screen to focus each shot or turn on/off the AF each trigger. I must be missing something simple.

Not happy! Anyone have any ideas? User error? Mechanical failure?

So what I'm finding is that DJI has an AFC (Auto Focus Continuous) Mode for Mavic, this is exactly as it sounds, a mode that continuously triggers the auto focus. My old P4P had the focus mechanically designed into the shutter trigger button on the remote control to request a focus before the image can be taken. And possibly many other modes to automatically keep focus of the frame with each of the DJI platforms.

The M210 platform running off the DJI Pilot app looks to be stripped down and contains few setting for most functions including the focus control. This means, as I understand, that I must rely on infinity focus (which I haven't exactly figured out yet), or by manually clicking the separate focus button before every shutter trigger, and hoping that my subject is in the center position, and/or has enough line definition to get a quality focus. That can't be right? This industrial level drone does not have a built in, automatically triggering (or following) focus?

Again, I must be missing something very simple. Google, DJI Forum, & Matrice Manual searches have been fruitless.

This thread discusses my problem, though I do not see a quality answer. It does look at infinity focus and depth of field.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I am having a similar issue while using autonomous flight software (Sitescan, UGCS). All my photos come back out of focus and the autofocus button doesn't seem to function while the drone is using Sitescan.

Sadly I have found DJI unhelpful with this and a number of other issues. If I had any other option than a DJI drone I would run to it. Good luck.
