I have started experimenting with my osmo pocket timelapse function.


I put it in AUTO mode because of the light variations. So AUTO exposure, 5s from each shots and 10 minutes timelapse duration.

After importing total of three videos, the first one is ok. Second and third has some video artifact at the end of the video (around 2/3 sec. pixelated). Please see images below, cropped from the 1080p resulting video.

What do you think about? What's causing the problem that ruined my timelapse? Any ideas?

Last few monthes was alot of talks about DNG for Timelapses in new firmware.
Files could save faster, so interval can be decreased, and quality will be better.

I would guess that the top image was the last, the bottom image was the second, and the "OK" first image is the one not shown. Looks like the light was fading in the shots.

Tiny sensors aren't the best in low light.

I'd agree, not enough light for the sensor.

Hi. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. With regards to the pixelated timelapse image you have created. I would recommend to please try creating another timelapse video on a different location with better lighting for us to be able to isolate the issue. In addition, I will be posting an official DJI Tutorial Video on how to create a DJI Osmo Pocket timelapse. Please keep us posted for us

Other tests done.

No luck. On the 1080p video created I have pixelated results. If I use all the JPG produced using the option VIDEO+JPG the resulting TL compositing every images is fine.

It's not a problem of AUTO setting, or high iso, or light fading. I also changed my microSD with a Sandisk ExtremePro 170/90 MB/sec, Class 10, UHS-I, U3, V30, 4K UHD-ready, so it's not the card.
