Hi guys,

In automatic mode the photos are very overexposed. I've reset the photo settings, but nothing changes. The photos are overexposed.

I also have a DJI Spark, which only allows automatic mode photos to be taken, and the photos look better in contrast.

What I can do?

Thanks!

If you turn on the histogram you'll be able to adjust your exposure better.

How can I interpret the histogram?

But with regard to my question. Does my Mavic have a problem?

Abandon Auto mode and adjust exposure to your liking.

Answer 1: Google is your best friend!
Answer 2: I can't tell without seeing an example.

Hi. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused you. With regards to this matter. I would recommend please try adjust the exposure manually to see if the issue still persists. In addition, are you able to post some photos that you have taken that are said to be overexposed. Thank you.

As for the histogram - it shows you graphically the level of light from dark to bright. Dark is on the left of the histogram.
In other words if you see the histogram leaning more to the right side of the graph, the image is overexposed. If it's leaning toward the left too much, the image is underexposed.
If it's in the middle, the midtones are dominant.
You want the image to be neutral (i.e. histogram mostly in the middle) or a little underexposed. It's easier to fix underexposed images and video in post than overexposed.

As for the image issues in auto - what was the weather like when you shot? was it bright and sunny?

Check out this site the explains the histogram. https://digital-photography-scho ... nd-use-histograms/.  When the sky is bright then its not uncommon for either the land to be dark or the sky blown out.  In contrasty conditions try using the AEB 3 or 5 shot and then merge them later Lightroom or similar.

Hello,
I have a similar problem on my mavic 2 pro with RC (maybe it's the same problem but Lex didn't explained it well) :
- The drone is facing a very sunny landscape, I am in automatic photo mode
- The automatic exposure of the image displayed on my smartphone looks perfect (photo1 and 2)
- I take the picture -> the picture taken is overexposed (photo3)
Any ideas?

Yes, the picture is overexposed.
When you post an image as you did, the forum shrinks it and removes the metadata which might have some clues to solve the problem.
If you upload the full-size original image file to Google Drive or similar and post a link here, someone might be able to read the metadata and find something helpful.

Is this happening all the time, or was it just a one-off thing?

Follow the instructions I gave to the post before yours.

with my Mini 3 Pro, I tend to use auto but photos that look fine on the screen are overexposed when they are downloaded to Lightroom but this is easily corrected . Bizarrely, using the same auto settings when i switch to video mode the footage is perfectly exposed - figure that one out!

If you do what the members above didn't do (upload a full-size original image to Dropbox or similar and post a link), I might be able to help.
