I looked at camera when it first cam out and voice commands were very limited at time.

Has this been improved since ?


In particular i want, start recording / stop recording with start recording to awake from sleep mode.

No it hasn't changed, you can't wake from sleep by voice.
More than once mine has incorrectly reacted to ambient sounds or conversation, I leave it off - it usually works reasonably wel if you do use it.

If it’s quiet and nearby it works ok, but otherwise more of a novelty however it has made for amusement on holidays with everyone shouting take picture in different accents and volumes to see what works.
