I bought the pocket at the day it is released.
Since than I carried it in my pocket every single day and used it almost every day.
I am using heavy Variable ND filter and Wide angle lens almost every time.

I might be the one of person who used Osmo pocket the most and pushed it to its limit...


So it was inevitable that pocket's gimbal motor wear out and it become broken someday.

(As you can see I have a motor vibration problem with heavy lens attached.)

Then V 01.10.00.30 firmware update came from no where...

It improved gimbal performance...
For third-party filters... (DJI-ytao confirmed it is for Third-party wide angle lens)

It revived my dying Osmo pocket!!!

Now you can boot the pocket with wide angle lens attached.
Booting sequence stops at exact moment befor wide angle lens hit the gimbal arm.

(imagin finding out losing a important footage by the vibration afterword...)

Now I have no more gimbal vibration issue.

Gimbal is stable just as when I bought it a new or even better.



Kudos to DJI for improving user experience and caring even for use of Third-party accessories.
It  also improved phase detection auto focus and red pixel noise issue in  Cinelike D mode and I can see it but not as prominent as gimbal  performance optimization.

Anyone haven't updated yet, you are missing a lot.
Optimized gimbal performance probably improved resisting motor wear down and increased gimbal life cycle.

But for me it is not possible to update the firmware. I use the iPhone 11 Pro Max. There is no update in the store.

Assuming that by "the store" you mean the App Store, that is where up would find any updates to the Mimo app.

The firmware is updated, through the Mimo app, when connected to the Pocket.

Since I usually use the Pocket naked, I finally pulled out my iPhone for the update. Turned on the phone, plugged in the Pocket, turned it on, and was immediately prompted for the firmware update - Success!

But, I only have a simple iPhone 6.

Oh sorry, I thought new FW generally only appears with a new Mimo update.

And I've already learned something new.

This one took longer, and fiddled more with the Pocket during the update. Had me nervous for a little while!

I have no problem to enable Cinelike-D in pocket itself.
Make sure you have a Pro mode on.

I also got some similar report around me.
Couple of Kase or Ulanzi lens users report their lens stuck during the booting although my Kase lens never stuck so far.
One thing I can suspect is that Kase and Ulanzi lens are very loosely built and There is a small size differece and each one sits differently on the gimbal.
I attached a small tape on the bottom frame of the Kase lens so it can sit more centered on the gimbal and it might help the booting.

Have been waiting for your test, great work! I am curious about one thing, since the gimbo has been strengthened , have you noticed any shorten in recording time? I wonder if the strengthen of the gimbo will have the cost of battery life?

Ah you don’t need to worry.
Osmo Pocket itself has no built in speaker. So it’s normal not to have any sound.

Sound comes from your phone when you connected it.

Hi Tide.
It must have a small speaker as you can make the Osmo Pocket bleep when you put it into record. No good for anything else though
