I drew, scanned, colored, and printed a skin for my Mini.  The only problem is that the vinyl "paper" wrinkles along curved areas, especially around the battery cover.  Anyone have some tips?  Maybe heat?  Different printable vinyl?

Wrinkled battery cover:

make a small line cuts on the top crease overlap then overlap the two sides...if its vinil you can use a hot blower to ben it a bit...

I tried a hairdryer and it didn't work well with this vinyl.  I'll cut some slits and overlap it next time.  Thanks for the tip.

But there is no was I can download it. 'It says something like i wouldn't have the permossion....'

@zacks I used one of WAP GRADE accents skins for base... look at Amazon pictures you'll surely find many.

But I did just because it had minimal warpage (as I feel is a picture of a printed vinyl sheet). It would have taken me more the modify a vector template skin (available on this forum) rather then warping the image from WG, and anyway it turned out the only thing it needed was a scaling... I didn't warp it at all.

Blue line - Is the bleed edge this is where your print ends so if your printing patterns or photos end it at the blue line
Pink line - Is the cut line, where to cut the lines

La lÍnea Azul - Es donde llega el limite de la imagen o patron a imprimir para que pueda cubrir correctamente todo el corte
La línea rosada - Es donde corta la cuchilla.

Can anyone please tell me the dimensions for the skin. It also won't let me download the file. Apparently I don't have permission to download it.

I took that file and made the length 5.38 inches top to bottom I did this proportional so everything worked out.

I think the best DYI template file lies here:

I've manged to print it on paper, stick the paper to a vinyl sheet, cut the pieces and stick them to my Mini with incredible ease (after some hairdryer moulding)... it's not a WAP GRADE skin but it's a darn good product distributed for free
Plus there's a better pay version if you want. If only I had a laser cutter I'd made one for each exit, sigh...

Here I post my worked version where I've conveniently laid down all the pieces in one A4 page and named all the parts, I also used the cutout line only (ideally must be cut in the middle) as the original file was a on pitch black background.
The .png file is correctly scaled for A4 (at 300dpi, just reduced colors), the original .svg file needs to be opened with a vector program (please note: only the .png file has part names). Beware some graphics program ignore the dpi setting and prints with his default. Use something suitable... I suspect GIMP might be the best option since it's free and I am pretty confident it retains the same dpi setting as Photoshop does.

2" orange insulation tape from B&Q works too! But I am only concerned about detering birds lol
