Here its a video that what happens when you lost your analog signal simulated on the bench, when flying this happens too when the signal is weak or lost, this can happen when you are recording or not as you can see in this video. I had this problem when I was flying.
So I would not recommend flying long range with the analog av/in or in places where you can lost video signal because of the time the goggles takes to reboot and recover video.
