Go into system settings on you Mac, then under security and integrity. Under common you should se that you need to allow in bottom for the driver..

I used DJI Assistant 2 For Phantom to connect my Phantom 4 Pro+ and did all calibrationstuff in Catalina. After updating firmware via the controller app DJi Go the  DJI Assistant 2 wont find my drone anymore.

I can live with the fact that i do the controller and drone upgrades in DJI Go but i must upgrade my DJI Goggles in DJI Assistant 2 or?
I have also tryed DJI Assistant 2 For Phantom on a MacBook Pro with Sierra but same problem.

Please tell me what to do.

I really can't believe DJI expects people to ignore every Catalina security warning!  HEY - large companies will not allow people to do this!!  To say this is unacceptable is rather an understatement, and unless it's resolved in the immediate future we'll be removing all our DJI drones.

Here's my very sad chat with DJI Support:

[ I realize this is an old reply, but just getting around to reading stuff that used to be important }

WHY are you using a company computer to play with your toy?  Seems like just using any non-business related software or connectivity (downloading information from a drone would violate EVERY company system security policy in existence).

While I agree, requiring a customer to circumvent security to operate their software is egregious, your practices and behaviors are no less contributory.  Me thinks you're B-S-ing the whole work computer thing. :-)

I like the DJI products very much and i don't want to be one who just whines. The firmware update/calibration stuff is nothing i will have to do every other day so i will simply borrow a PC with Windows 10, install Assistant on it and do what i need to do.

I will let you know how i went

Since so may customers have the same problem with the Mac OS Catalina, I will post the workaround in public.
Please click Quit when the Mac pops up HoRNDIS is not compatible, exit the installation of the driver, then download the driver installation package below separately, and then double-click the PKG file to install it after decompression. After the installation is successful, it should be used normally.
https://github.com/jwise/HoRNDIS/files/3719733/HoRNDIS-9.2-catalina_install.pkg.zip

I tried this and it still does not work. Everything installs and then there is no DJI Assistant 2 App present on the computer. Rebooted, reinstalled, everything I could do I tried.

I even loaded up the DJI Assist 2 app in a Windows VM. When I try it there I get another error about not being able to detect the screen size. I give it the screen size and then the app doesnt show what is is supposed to show to calibrate.

Your software is buggy on 2 different OS's.

My Mavik Air is now a brick

Is using this buggy software the only way to calibrate the Vision on my drone?

I have the same problem. With two drones I cannot fly because they won't update. I have tried Mindy's solution #2 and it doesn't work. What we need is a serious update to the application. It's been about two years and that's unacceptable. Please provide a solution. With all the drones and other robotic equipment DJI has you'd think they could provide maintenance software that actually works for their products...

so, i did this .. istalled the HoRNDIS 9.2, restarted, then tried to re-run the dji assistant .pkg file . . and at the end it says i need to install the HoRNDIS file . . . which I had already done! So I'm not sure how to proceed. Does ANYONE have a good, CLEAR step--by-step guide to do this? I have both .pkg files -- DJI Assistant and HoRNDIS 9.2 -- sitting in my downloads folder.

This is an annoying run around I too installed the hoRNDIS file why can they just make it all a DMG file for macs and so here is a  link to a screen grab . What a mash up .

I purchased the DJI Smart Controller as soon as I found out that it would now work with my Mavic Air 2. I was so excited to use it that I immediately went to download DJI Assistant 2 to my iMac running Catalina 10.15.7. When I tried to open it Safari fait it couldn't open it. So I did the next logical thing and went to the Forum and saw your post. However, when I tried to open the link / download from here I received the following “HoRNDIS-9.2 2.pkg” cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer". Did I just spend over $800 (with tax) on something I cannot use??

Finally a logical response to “JUST OVERRIDE YOUR COMPUTER SECURITY”! I decided whatever this download provides in never going to be worth compromising my Mac system. 2 questions beg to be answered. Why does DJI not follow Apple developer protocol?  What prevented Apple from endorsing this
software if it was in fact submitted? I will wait for answers before installing anything not recommended.
I love the DJI Product and will only buy this brand, but only at acceptable security measures.

I'm on a Mac as well and the easiest way for me to get around this is -- If you have already used bootcamp to make a windows partition - instal Assistant 2 on the windows partition and your all set ready to go -- If you dont have a partition made using bootcamp - make one, you will find having a windows partition on your Mac can solve a lot of headaches when it comes to programs of all kinds. .. If it dont work on Mac, use windows partition - much faster than all these work arounds.

I dont understand why this is an issue. - I run Catalina as well and I am having no problems at all. . People using a MAC, go into your utilities and run BOOTCAMP. Instal a version of windows on a partition and when its done, boot into your windows partition, download the assistant program from DJI and use the program. Simple.Using BOOTCAMP is not hard at all.
If you dont have a copy of windows, torrent one with a activation key and instal it.
Problem solved.
Sure it would be easier if we didnt have to do this but there is a work around without all the coding that some are doing.
BOOTCAMP - the best workaround for lots of programs you want but cant use on a MAC , now you can.
Try it.

SOLUTION

I have DJI Assistant for Mavic working fine with my DJI Mavic Mini Air 2 on my MacOSX Catalina. I struggled for hours, but finally this worked for me:

1. Download and install DJI Assistant for Mavic for Mac.
2. Make sure you install the driver from post #2 (https://github.com/jwise/HoRNDIS/files/3719733/HoRNDIS-9.2-catalina_install.pkg.zip). Don't forget to reboot.
3. After reboot, go to your System Preferences > Security and privacy > General tab > Click the lock to make changes (and type your password if needed), and if this page says that the system blocked the driver, make sure to authorize it, and just to be safe, reboot again.
4. Important: make extra sure you are using the USB cable provided with your drone. I was using a USB C cable (on both ends of the cable), and this failed. Using the cable provided with your drone (i.e., USB C on one end and USB-A on the other end), everything worked fine. Note that you may need to use a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect to your MacBook (google "usb a to usb c adaptor").
5. After reboot, start DJI Assistant for Mavic, turn your drone on and pray!
6. If this doesn't suffice, follow the other instructions people posted, like popping out the SD card and plugging it back in just when the drone boots up. I didn't have to do this though, the previous steps were enough.

Hope this helps!

Dji sucks. Either your computer or phone is to new and not compatible or,,, well it's usually just the person's fault and dji will never take responsibility for the failure of their technology, staff or design. Buyer's be warned, but if your in a forum it's usually too late.

Opened an ONLINE CHAT with DJI Tech Support.  I was informed by DJI, that for MAC OS users (specifically macOS Catalina Version) users would need to go to;   SYSTEM PREFERENCES , then Security & Privacy , Click OPEN ANYWAY (or ALLOW) and "Continue" to start the installation.

I've tested and this fix does work!   Seems to be an ONGOING issue with anyone running MAC OS "Catalina Version" (which is an older version of MAC OS).
