I've got a Samsung Note 8.  It has one of the brightest displays of any tablet or phone at 1000 NITs.  And even with that cranked up to max, I can't really see it worth a darn outdoors in daylight.

I built a crummy gizmo out of a cardboard box and one of those gadgets that can hold a phone or tablet.  The phone sits at the back of the box so it's protected from direct sunlight.  And still, it's hard to get one's eyes to adjust to see something so dim compared to the ambient light.

What do you folks do so you can actually see your little display when flying outdoors in daylight?

My iPhone 11 max has been fairly good in full sunlight.

I like how that mounts over the antenna,  very neat way to fit it.

It's actually one of the better things DJI have designed

I like to travel as light as possible, so I don't bring anything other than the controller + the drone + the batteries.
For outdoor, I try to find a shadow place (under a tree or so).
That makes viewing a little bit better
And it also prevents you getting in the frame a little.

I didn't really notice this issue. I'm using an iPhone 11 Pro and it's fine in sunlight. Significantly better than my previous iPhone X.

I bought a hood but it doesn't really help that much in direct sun on my iPhone 7 -- I turn brightness all the way up and try to find shade to stand in.

Try to position yourself where you are in shade or consider a lens hood.

Or he could get a cowboy hat a tad bit bigger than the one Captain Dirty Bird wears and that would provide some sun blockage for his screen.  J/K.

I always appreciate reading Captain DB's comments as he is always spot on and appears to speak from a lot of experience.

My iphone XR works pretty well. I have trouble seeing the wifi signal, GPS and battery level indicators personally.

but seriously , maybe a hood that wraps around more might help

Hi, thank you for reaching out and we do apologize for the inconvenience. We do have an available screen hood for your mobile device that was compatible with the RC of DJI Mavic Mini on our store website. This screen hood helps reduce glare and reflection on a smartphone screen when the sun is strong. You may refer to the link below. Please don't hesitate to reach us if you have other inquiries or concerns. Thank you for your support!

Thanks!

So the phone I have, the Samsung Note 8 is the brightest of any of the devices listed!  1200 NITS.

I guess I do need one of the hoods!  This is like using an old view camera.  ;)
