Hi there!
I'm not sure if I'm a little late to the party, but a while ago I had a similar problem with a Sony RX100 VII and Ronin SC. Basically, the camera would take videos, but neither time lapse nor single picture taking would work. What I found out much later, is that if you set the photo shutter button to work as a record button in movie mode, or if you set focus to anything that is not either manual focus, or continuous autofocus, then the ronin SC cannot trigger taking pictures. To be clear, if you want the system to take pictures, then:
1. Make sure that the photo shutter behavior is set to default (i.e. the little red button always starts recording movies, the big black button always takes a picture).
2. Make sure that the focusing mode is either continuous autofocus, or manual focus.
3. At least for time lapses, you have to be in a photo mode for pictures to be taken.
Since my time with the RX100, I have changed the camera to an a6400 (also sony), and can confirm that the same problem persists if the shutter behavior is not set to default.
Hope this helps! |
