I just purchased this guy and have not received it yet.








It was used to deliver drugs into a jail/prison and received some damage when apprehended and is being repaired.  This photo is after repairs during a test flight.

Funny thing I'm a police officer and this UAS will be used in our UAS Program, guess the drone just changed sides.

It did not come with a camera but i was able to purchase an X3 separately.  We currently fly Mavic Pro's and Phantom 3 Pro's and the lack of "zoom" is a problem.  Is there a different lens for the X3 or a "zoom" camera that won't break the bank.  Our agency wants a UAS Program but we have to provide our own aircraft so my budget is nearly non-exsistant.

There are 3 cameras capable of zoom on the inspire 1 series.. the z3, x5 and x5r

Z3 has 22-77mm worth of zoom while
X5/r can carry a panasonic powerzoom with 45-175mm. X5 will require a gimbal mount upgrade.

But for night flying, zenmuse xt 640

Z3 would be the low budget option.

Z3 is definitely your best bet. X5R with the panasonic power zoom + new mount will cost you $1500+. You can find used Z3's going for $350-$700 depending on its condition. Good luck with the Program ;)

Have fun, that thing is a beast to fly.  Best part is when the landing gears goes up after takeoff.  I surely miss mine, but it just got too much to transport for fun.

Hopefully you go the RTF case as well.
