You can it’s not a problem, but you will find recording in 60fps and slowed down to 30fps will give you smoother footage, you can both increase the FPS “not a good idea” or decrease FPS in post, you will also find if you want to slow footage down you will get much better results using 60fps than 30, try editing in 60 and you’ll see what I mean, I was using 24fps as OP is in Europe .
Brother Hall, you're basically on a good path explaining advantages of high FPS footage, but there's one hidden "trap". Slow motion mania that is ... If you're filming and play back at - say - 60 fps, every movement will look smoother, particularly when panning. That's good. That will, however, produce boringly slow action with typical stutter artifact when filmed landscape is played at 30 or 24 FPS. Shampoo commercial with young lady in a shower tub ... oh, that's a different story. But these are filmed at 120 and more FPS. Bottom line ... The golden rule of shutter speed twice the FPS still delivers the best camouflaging blur to eliminate stutter as much as possible. Aerial camera 4K/120fps full FOV will make me drooling for sure ... |
