Mr. Allen’s property, held in an entity called Big Surf Trust, is on the Big Island in Kailua Bay, near the Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. The trust purchased the 10.3-acre compound, the site of the former Thurston Estate built by newspaper publisher Lorrin Thurston, in 1997 for $11 million. Its assessed value is currently $32 million. In 2011, a reinforced concrete pool, carport and three new buildings were added, including a 9,080-square-foot house with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, and a 2,968-square-foot house with six bedrooms and five bathrooms, according to public records. A Jacuzzi pool was built in 2012.  Mr. Allen used to dock his yacht in the harbour and then fly to the estate with the on board helicopter.  Sadly Paul Allen passed away in 2018, age 65.

No wind spray as it was relatively calm however the waves on the rocks would cause splashes about 2ft high.  I was at about 6ft high.
